Course Overview

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). 

Course Target Audience

Recommended for MDs, RNs, EMTs, Dentists, Pharmacists, and Medical Personnel who already have their HeartCode BLS Certificate of Completion.

The HeartCode BLS Online Course includes an online eBook, so there is no need to purchase book separately. Student has access to eBook for 24 months.

Course Instructions

Bring a printed HeartCode BLS Certificate of Completion to Skills Session with an Instructor (note printing fee 1.00 at time of class). Attend scheduled skills session with AHA BLS instructor and successfully complete skills validation/testing. At end of session student then receives a BLS Provider eCard that is valid for two years. 

Course Confirmation

Email of confirmation of class (skills session) with drving directions are sent via email.

The HeartCode BLS Online Course is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate Basic Life Support skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner’s performance. The program is designed for healthcare professionals who need Basic Life Support training for their clinical duties. Utilizing a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, Cognitive Assessment Activities, illustrations, knowledge checks and interactive activities, this program teaches BLS knowledge and skills. This method of learning provides training consistency and adaptability to different learning styles. Students can work at their own pace applying their knowledge to real-time decision making. Debriefings and coaching are provided immediately after each knowledge check and each Cognitive Assessment Activity. Blended Learning  is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner online, followed by a hands-on session. The hands-on session is completed in person with an AHA Instructo
